Date: Fri, Oct 08, 2004
GAZA CITY (AFP) - Israeli forces killed two Palestinians at Khan Yunes in the south of the Gaza Strip (news - web sites), Palestinian hospital sources said.
The two, Imad Bader, 24, and Fakher Fakher, 22, were members of the Palestinian national security force, security sources said.
Two more Palestinians were wounded.
The Israeli army told AFP that an air raid had targeted a group of armed men seen in the sector.
The latest deaths bring to 100 the number of people reported killed by the Israeli army since it launched a major offensive September 28 in the Gaza Strip to try to stop militant rocket attacks on southern Israel.
Since the start of the Palestinians' four-year-old intifada, 4,464 people have been killed, including 3,436 Palestinians and 954 Israelis.
On Friday four Palestinians including two teenagers and a nine-year-old girl were killed by Israeli fire in the northern Gaza Strip.
Four powerful explosions were later heard as tanks opened fire on the neighbouring Beit Lahya district. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
