Israel army kills Palestinian teenager in Gaza Strip

GAZA CITY (AFP) - Israeli troops shot dead a Palestinian teenager near a Jewish settlement in the Gaza Strip (news - web sites), Palestinian medical sources said.

Khaled Madi, 16, was shot in the back by soldiers as he was working in a field belonging to his family near the settlement of Morag in the southern Gaza Strip, the sources and witnesses said Monday.

His death brought to 3,820 the total number of people killed since the start of the intifada, or Palestinian uprising, in September 2000, including 2,866 Palestinians and 886 Israelis.
