Date: Tue, May 11, 2004
JERUSALEM - Palestinian Foreign Minister Nabil Shaath said Tuesday he will meet Secretary of State Colin Powell (news - web sites) over the weekend to discuss U.S. policy in the Mideast conflict.
It would be the first high-level meeting between the two sides since President Bush (news - web sites) angered Palestinians by declaring that Israel could hold on to some West Bank territory in a peace agreement, and that Palestinian refugees could return to a Palestinian state but not to Israel.
