Qorei to propose Israeli-Palestinian ceasefire to Powell

AMMAN (AFP) - Palestinian prime minister Ahmed Qorei said he would propose an Israeli-Palestinian ceasefire in talks here with US Secretary of State Colin Powell (news - web sites).
Qorei told Jordan's state news agency Petra that "he will propose to Powell during a meeting on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (news - web sites) a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinians and the start of negotiations."
He made the remarks following talks in Amman with Jordanian Foreign Minister Marwan Moasher on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and ahead of talks Monday in Berlin with US National Security Adviser Condoleeza Rice.
