Palestinian teenager shot dead by Israeli troops in southern Gaza

GAZA CITY (AFP) - A 16-year-old Palestinian was shot dead by Israeli soldiers in the southern Gaza Strip (news - web sites) town of Rafah.
The teenager, who was identified as Ahmed al-Hams, was killed when soldiers opened fire during an incursion into the town which borders Egypt, Palestinian medical sources said Thursday.
The latest death brings the overall toll since the September 2000 start of the Palestinian uprising, or intifada, to 4,242, including 3,244 Palestinians and 927 Israelis.
