MOSCOW (AFP) - Iran has no inter-continental missiles and only has weapons capable of travelling medium range, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov was quoted as saying.
"I want to calm the international community: Iran does not have inter-continental ballistic missiles. Iran only has medium-range missiles," he was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
Ivanov, speaking in the wake of Iranian weapons tests and military exercises in the Gulf, also expressed hope that the international standoff over Tehran's nuclear power ambitions "will be resolved through political-diplomatic efforts."
Russia is counting on the Iranian leadership to "show great caution," he said.
