TYRE, Lebanon (AFP) - Talks are continuing with Israel on completing its pullout from Lebanon after its summer war with Hezbollah, UN peacekeeping spokesman Alexander Ivanko said.
"Discussions are going on, we are still working on this issue," Ivanko said Sunday.
"We hope that it will be resolved soon and that the Israel Defense Forces will withdraw."
Despite pulling out of the rest of south Lebanon on October 1, Israeli troops continue to occupy the Lebanese part of the divided village of Ghajar, which borders the Syrian Golan Heights that Israel has held since 1967.
Israeli commanders have cited security reasons for retaining the whole village and the army has erected a large berm to bar access from the rest of Lebanese territory.
