GAZA, April 24 (Reuters) - The Hamas-led Palestinian government called on Tuesday for resuming a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip after Hamas's armed wing fired rockets into Israel in response to the killing of nine Palestinians over the weekend.

"The government reiterates its desire that the calm continue and be preserved in the way that achieves the national interests of the Palestinian people," Ghazi Hamad, spokesman for the Hamas-led government, said in a statement.
