DUBAI (AFP) - The head of Lebanon's Shiite movement Hezbollah said on Tuesday that UN-mediated talks with Israel over an exchange of prisoners were continuing, but he would not provide details.

"I can confirm that the negotiations continue and are underway now," Hassan Nasrallah told Al-Jazeera television when asked about the fate of two Israeli soliders, whose capture by Hezbollah guerrillas last summer touched off a devastating 34-day war with Israel.

"We are in the process of negotiating and, if God wills, the day will come when we recover our brothers with dignity.

He declined to elaborate.

"We agreed from the first day of the negotiations not to talk about them to avoid them aborting. I respect that accord," he said.

In a first segment of his interview with Al-Jazeera, aired on Monday, Nasrallah refused to give any news on the fate of the two soldiers, Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser. He said that "depended on the negotiations."
