After seeing the History Channel special about the USS Liberty incident, an incident that I'd never heard of until that day in August of 2002 (I was 31 at the time. I mention this because I was born and raised in America, and I was never taught about the Liberty at school), and the utter hostility I encountered in some circles for merely asking about it, I began to look further into the situation. What began as a small collection of links on my site quickly grew to where it is now - all in the space of a few weeks. Now I don't condone terrorism - on either side. But I think the utter snowjob by the pro-Israel lobby on the American people is very dangerous. We have a right to see the other side of the story, so here it is.

Am I obsessed with Israel? No. I'm obsessed with setting right a grave injustice that has only recently come to my attention, thanks to our biased media. For it is that injustice that is one of the roots of the growing anti-American sentiment that exists not just in the Arab world, but also in other parts of the world today. The international community would like to see a fair and just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and so would I.


I support Israel's right to exist and the creation of a Palestinian state.
I also support:

  • the cessation of the building of new Israeli settlements and the dismantling of existing settlements that were not built within the green line or the pre '67 borders (UN resolution 446).


  • complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Palestinian Territories (UN resolution 442).


  • the right of return of those refugees displaced in 1947-8 and 1967 and fair compensation to those Palestinians not wishing to return (UN resolution 194).


  • due process and fair and judicious treatment of Palestinian prisoners.


  • due process and fair and judicious treatment of suspected militants that are not an immediate threat to Israel - meaning no more death squads, no more house demolitions, no more firing missiles into or dropping bombs onto buildings where innocent civilians also may reside.


  • no more open fire policy where soldiers are allowed to open fire at unarmed civilians when their lives are not in danger, though this may not be necessary if Israeli troops pulled out of the territories.


  • the dismantling of the wall where it is built on Palestinian Territory


    • US must withold all aid to Israel until it does all of the above.

    Civil disobedience during the first Intifada got the Palestinians shot and killed.

    Why so much on the ME? Somebody's got to bring in another side of the story. The American media is not going to do it. I'm a somebody who has no vested interest in either side, and I'm not a white supremacist either. Just a concerned US citizen. The situation needs to get resolved. Here's an idea

    These sailors have been repeatedly stepped on for the better part of 35 years simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time - some even paid with their lives. They could scarcely get a library named after their ship, and the presentation of the Congressional Medal of Honor was awarded to Capt. McGonagle in a Navy Ship Yard and was presented by the Navy secretary instead of the customary presentation at the White House by the President. Why? As an American with many veterans in my family, that bothers me a great deal. They didn't and don't deserve that kind of treatment. It is a travesty.

    I encourage you to ask your Congressmen, your Senators, the President, what they are doing to see to it that justice is served with regard to the war crimes report that the USS Liberty veterans have submitted to the Secretary of Defense. Do it every month, every week, if necessary.

    Let us not let them be swept under the rug anymore. These men are AMERICAN SAILORS and they deserve to have their 'day in court'. Why would ANYONE seek to take that away from them?

    I was reading the forum here for this article, and can see why Cristol felt the need to go digging for a "new find" to "prove" the attack on the Liberty was an accident.

    JUNE 18 - 8PM EST - History Channel is running the special about the attack on the USS Liberty - I watched this again and I had forgotten how emotionally charged this documentary was. Whether or not the attack was deliberate is secondary to the fact that these sailors are heroes, and they deserve to be treated as such by our government and by the US press. You can buy a copy of this documentary at the A&E store here. Well worth it. Every American should know about this event. These sailors deserve far better than how our government has treated them all of these years.

This clip features footage shot by cameras that were mounted on the Israeli planes that attacked Egypt's airfields. It makes me wonder though, were there any of those cameras mounted on the planes that attacked Liberty, and if so, where is the footage now? Maybe it would prove one way or the other if the US FLAG was visible.. and hence, the attack was no accident. What one of the survivors, Mr. Lentini, said towards the end of the clip though, speaks for itself. The Israelis knew which frequencies to jam, and would therefore know by those frequencies, that that ship was American.
