A Palestinian bride is helped by relatives to go over a sand barricade put up by Israeli army bulldozers to block a main communications route in the area of the Netzarim Jewish settlement in the Gaza strip Friday afternoon June 13 2003. The Palestinians came under sniper fire meant to stop them from attempting to cross the barricade from a nearby Israeli army observation tower. Nobody was injured. Israel proposes halting missile strikes and other military operations for three days, starting Sunday, to allow Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas to resume contacts with Hamas and other militant groups and persuade them to halt attacks on Israel, an official said.
